Brigitte Bardot made Buzios, Brazil popular when she first visited & decided to live there for a while. She is also well-known for popularizing the Bikini! Here is the statue dedicated to her in Buzios. She’s sitting on a suitcase & gazing out onto the beautiful ocean! My friends and I took fun photos posing next to the statue! Her images & name are all over Buzios…she is definitely present there!
I sat on a nearby bench & gazed out into the ocean while watching the beautiful sunsets and then it was off for a night on the town with a few locals I met…fun times for sure! Enjoy the images I took of the gorgeous sunsets!
Isn't the sunset beautiful? I always take plenty of photos to share with friends & family whenever I travel...after all, sharing is caring!;)
As I sat here and watched the sunset, I just couldn't help but be in awe of the incredible beauty!
Here is one of the fun photos taken of us with the Brigitte Bardot statue. Aren't we all full on Glamour?LOL!:) I love seeing the amazing destinations people travel to in the You Said It/Where Has Your Glamour Been section of Glamour Magazine...fun!

Pink Dress: NYE 2010 w/Friends Blue Dress: Feb.2008/1st Solo Trip to Jamaica & The Jungle!
On my first visit to Jamaica, nearly everyone I met while walking along the beach, was talking about Thursday nights at The Jungle, Negril’s most popular nightclub. Naturally, I went & loved it! The Jungle plays dancehall, the crowd is lively, the place is packed, downstairs being my favorite. Even if you don’t dance, watching the Jamaican dancers is a show in itself. I highly recommend dancing with a Jamaican boy, they will surely guide you on the dance floor and help you catch the rhythm. Lucky me, my guide was a tall, slender, Jamaican/Indian(East India) boy who led me on the dance floor. Being in VIP was a blast, but I like to be in the mix of things, so a balance of both was perfect!
I have gone back to The Jungle during each visit on Thursday nights except during a storm in November during our Girls Getaway when the power went out in Negril while we were all getting ready to go to the club! No worries, this year my friends & I were sure to celebrate & dance the night away at The Jungle and close to midnight headed out to the top floor deck to toast the new year in as well as watch fireworks in the sky. The Jungle rocks & is an absolute must-visit in Negril…pure fun!
In Feb.2008: After leaving a beach party/show at Alfred's Ocean Palace, I purchased my first jerk chicken at a street-side stand...it was absolutely delicous! And yes, the Chef is extremely tall! My Dress: T-Bags!
Whenever I visit Negril, Jamaica, all I want to eat is jerk chicken every day. I can’t help it, it’s absolutely delicious. Everyone is always asking me how is that I eat so much & stay so tiny, I respond “Thank God I have a high metabolism, because I LOVE to eat!”
While I have tried jerk chicken at numerous restaurants, the Jerk chicken which keeps me coming back for more is from the street stands which line Norman Manley Boulevard, a very popular street in Negril. While I have never eaten food in the states from a Food Truck, the food stands in Negril are very tempting! There are simple pieces of jerk chicken wrapped alongside a piece of delicious bread in a tiny tin foil for only a few dollars and it’s perfect, especially if you have late night cravings or just had a night out dancing at a night club and you’re hungry!
(L-R) Jerk chicken salad at Country Peppa's Bar & Grill rocks & the beach view is outstanding! I swear, I just can't get enough of the jerk chicken from the street vendors on Norman Manley Blvd. and the bread is ridiculously delicious as well all wrapped perfectly in tin foil for only a few dollars...perfect!
On my 4th trip to Negril for NYE January 2010, we (10 of us) all had dinner at Kubaya! Everyone was all coupled up, in relationships, around the table expect for me & my girl friend from Dubai! The food was excellent & such a beautiful place! The tropical fruit juice I have in my hand was to die for.
(L-R) Although it's normal to wait for about an hour at Three Dives Jerk Centre, trust me when I tell you it is well worth the wait...just be patient!;) Juici Patties is a popular Jamaican pattie restaurant in Jamaica and they also have amazing jerk chicken meals which I often crave!
I swear, writing this post made me miss Jamaica and extremely hungry!{Sigh!}
Kick A$$ Actors: Sylvester Stallone & Jason Statham!
Moving Performance: Mickey Rourke!
Loved: The seaplane scenes & a scene in the movie when the leader was speaking out on the balcony reminded me of one of my favorite movies ever….Scarface!
Great Seeing: Dolph Lundgren…he still looks grr-eat!
Bad Guy: I didn’t like that Eric Roberts played the bad guy, but he looked handsome in a suit & played the role well!
Minus: arnold schwarzenegger
After the movie: I was feeling feisty as ever. The Expendables is an incredibly action-packed movie and kept me on the edge of my seat….such a rush! I really wished one of my friends had brought an extra helmet…I really wanted to take a ride on the back of his motorcycle and just speed away FAST…that movie had me extremely hyped…loved it!
I stayed at Country Country during my first visit to Negril, Jamaica...such a beautiful & colorful place with an amazing & mellow vibe right along the Seven Mile Beach!
I flew solo to Jamaica in February 2008. After searching online, I was captivated by the colorful beach cottages at Country Country. I called the hotel and asked numerous questions and arranged for a driver from the hotel to pick me up in Montego Bay at Sangster International Airport(MBJ). I arrived and saw a smiley faced man with a wide grin holding a sign which displayed my name and the name of the hotel. He drove me 1.5 hours to Negril, Jamaica, stopping along the way to get me sugar cane, since I had never tried it before! The driver, Ernie, was just so kind and full of personality along the way, which made my arrival to Jamaica very welcoming. From the moment I arrived at this hotel until the time I left, the hospitality was top of the line: friendly service, smiling faces each day, beautiful cottages, amazing location along the Seven Mile Beach, and delicious and extremely flavorful food. I felt right at home at Country Country Beach Cottages in Negril, Jamaica. (Feel free to click onto the images below for a larger image for the full effect, enjoy!)
One morning I took a photo of this beach view in front of the cottages. Here I am posing it up in front of one of the cottages. Aren't they colorful and so cute? So tropical...I love it!
Here is one of the areas inside the gates of Country Country Beach Cottages. Since a staff member is always somewhere on the property, I asked to have this photo taken! When I first saw the sign "You Are Here" on the website, I couldn't wait to actually arrive and take a photo of it...I had finally arrived!
My room was on the top floor, 2nd floor. I loved how spacious and colorful my room was, so tropical, so Jamaica! I took photos of each side of the room! The room also includes a restroom and television, of course!
While walking within the gates on the Country Country property, I would always pass this Rasta statue which I loved, so I had to take a picture! I felt blissfully happy walking through this little walkway each morning to get to the beach which took approximately 30 seconds or less!
Some of the cottages have 2 levels and since I love being on top, I had to walk up a few stairs to get to my room! The doors of my cottage opened up onto my large balcony and tropical view!
The staff at Country Country are so incredibly friendly, I loved it. This pasta meal which I had on my first night that I arrived to Country Peppa's Bar & Grill will always remind me of my first meal on my first solo vacation. I felt peacefully happy as I sat and dined alone! I also had jumbo coconut shrimp which are not in the photo!LOL! The food was fabulous!
I truly had a blast at Country Country Negril Beach Cottages and I would recommend it as a place to stay in a heartbeat! I love the detail & design of the place as well as the bar & grill which is located right on the sand with a beautiful ocean view! As you can see from the photos above, I was sure to take plenty of photos for my scrapbook of memories!
After my first visit to Negril, Jamaica, I knew I would return and I did within the same year…and several times after! The energy of Jamaica is so laidback and friendly…so my style! The beauty of Jamaica is an experience in itself…you just have to witness it in person to feel the vibe….ahhhh! Is it possible to fall in love with an island? Sometimes my heart flutters a bit whenever I look at my photo albums from Jamaica because I love the island so much! When deciding on going to Jamaica, this video was part of my inspiration & vision board, enjoy!!!
